Wacky Wednesday: YA Author John Green Gave Love Advice To Teens, & What He Said Was Pretty Spot On!

Hey y'all! So, summer romance is a low-priority, boring, yet still hot topic in today's world, &, as cliche as it is, it's still nice to read about classic relationships in ANY John Green novel we pick out in the app store when a true love story of our own may not be as fabulous.

But what if John Green could give YOU & YOUR FRIENDS personal advice about YOUR life? Well, for some lucky fans, that dream became their reality! Read their questions, (and John's responses!) right here

HOW COOL IS THIS?! Seriously, this is LIGIT advice for anyone, & the fact that these words came from one of THE GREATEST WRITERS OF OUR GENERATION? NBD.

These teens BETTER take this advice to heart, 'cause it's a TRULY RARE occasion that a LEGEND like John would take his time out for fans to ask him serious questions that affect their lives. Awesome answers! We need more peeps like Mr. Green in this world, that's for sure!

One of the reasons why this man is an absolute GEM! Thoughts?

Tasty Treats Tuesday: Need An Awesome Burger Shake Combo? Wisconsin's "Wilson's" Is Your New Go-To!

Hey guys! So, on a hot summer day, how do you beat the heat? Sit in the shade? Chill in front of the AC all afternoon? Well, in the Midwest, we combine two classic pastimes: Custard & cheese! I'll explain, but, first, though, let me tell ya WHERE these two delicious concoctions can both be consumed in one sitting. There are many awesome burger joints in Wisco that apply this concept, but NONE of'em compare to this iconic shop. One name, peeps: Wilson's!

Located in Eiphraim, Wisconsin, (which is located in a small section of Door County, which is one of my personal FAVE vacay hotspots, as you've seen before), NOTHING ever disappoints me about Wilson's! Whenever I visit Door County with my family, we always try to visit Wilson's at LEAST once. (Maybe twice if we have a longer stay planned, but that usually doesn't happen). My family always saves up for eating at this hotspot since, when we get there, we know we'll be eating A LOT of food!

Speaking of food, Wilson's has some of the BEST drive-thru classics I've had in A REALLY LONG TIME! Every time I visit, I'm always impressed at how such a small hometown diner can bring in SO many locals & visitors at one time. This place is filled with Midwestern pride, & you can taste it in the food!

Check out the menu here.

Now can ya see how cheese & custard can come together? Cheese starts out the meal (with the burgers), while custard ends the meal (with dessert!). Come on down and check out these traditions for yourselves!

Wacky Wednesday: If A Sibling Is Ever Mean To Ya, This Little Girl Has The Best Response!

Hey you guys! So, have ya ever gotten into a fight with someone close to ya? How did it end? Still besties? Well, sometimes little kids can have their first debacle end up in a HILARIOUS moment for the whole fambam. This next clip is the PERFECT example. Watch what happened here.

Little Girl Has A Funny ‘I’m Moving On’ Rant After Her Brother Throws Dirt At Her

HAHAHAHAHA! The sass & spunkiness of Sage has us almost in TEARS from laughing so hard! I love this lil' girl! She stands her ground, which, to me, is EXTREMELY impressive at her age! Five years old, already knowing her emotions, & tellin' her world off like she means it! HIL-AAAA-RIOUS!

Thanks, Sage! You made my whole week!

Special Needs Awareness: What Happens When Marc Roberge, Cody Simpson, & 2 Special Olympic Athletes Come Together? MAGIC! WATCH:

Hey y'all! Guess what? The Special Olympics are comin' up!

The annual sporting event for kids & adults with disabilities kicks off in LA this year on July 25th! BEYOND EXCITED! To spread the message of hope these athletes have, Coca-Cola teamed up with OAR guitarist Marc Roberge, (who my sister is a HUGE fan of, by the way!),  Australian pop star Cody Simpson, (who, of course, we're ALL OBSESSED WITH, right?!), along with 2 PHENOMENAL guests to record the anthem of this years' games!

Two of The Special Olympics' brightest athletes make awesome appearances in the music video! Bri & Madison are AWESOME backround vocalists on the song, & they help really bring the message home. Motovation & inspiration are a BIG part what the special needs community are all about, and, as a member of this community, girls, you made me SO PROUD!

Alright, enough bragging about the song since I don't give it enough justice. Who actually wants to HEAR OUR ANTHEM? Listen to "Reach Up" right here.

I'm crying just hearing this agan! UH-MAY-ZING! Can't WAIT to see #ReachUp performed live! Best representation of special needs pride I've seen in a VERY LONG time! Cody, Marc, Madison & Brianna, THANK YOU!

Special Needs Awareness: One Of My CP Sisters Made An Awesome Point In Her Own Music Video, & I Think She NAILED IT!

Hey guys! So, a lot of times, being born with Cerebral Palsy can seem tough to the outside world, but, really, all we need is support from everybody! But there is a difference between being supportive &" overly nice. " This next music video will show you exactly what we mean.

Check out "Talk Normal To Me" right here.

SO PROUD to say I know Amanda personally, & sooo excited she's getting this message out there! Just because someone gets around on four wheels instead of legs, it doesn't mean they don't understand you. Give everyone in a wheelchair a chance 'cause you'll learn a TON! We're NO different than anyone else!

We NEED to get Jason Derulo to see this & support our community! It's a clever twist on his hit single, & I'd hope he'd appreciate Amanda's originality as much as the CP community has!

Another awesome validation that special needs people exist! Nice job, Amanda! Love you & thank you for sharing!

Hey you guys! So, BIG NEWS: in case y'all weren't aware, um, SCHOOL'S OUT! YOU'RE FREE! WAAAAHOOO!!!!! I think that calls for a celebration! Can I make a suggestion? Well, how else do ya cool off on a hot day? ICE CREAM, of course! Anybody headed down Wisconsin's way this summer? I have a few secret custard shops to let you in on. Let's get started with a local favorite!

South Peir Parlor:

South Pier just came added their newest location in Elkhart Lake, but I'm proud to say their first opening was in my hometown of Sheboygan! Super yummy, they've got an awesome selection of toppings, & I just LOVE going there! Check out their Facebook page right here.

Kopps Custard:

This place is like a WONDERLAND for my entire family! Best part?  Kopps' is open YEAR ROUND so ya don't have to worry if you need a creamy, cold dessert! On top o' that, if you're craving an order of fries to dip, go ahead & order some! Kopps' has some o' the BEST BURGERS in the state, so don't be scared of adding more to your order than you'd originally planned! Check out both menus right here.

Ever been down to my neck o' the woods before? No? Well, custard and ice cream breaks are the BEST excuse! (At least I think so!). C'mon down & make sure to check'em out! You won't be disappointed to say the least!

Mindful Monday: A Quote SO Relatable To All Of Us, It Hurts!

Hey y'all! So, I know it's been awhile, but I wanted to share something that's been on my mind lately. Virtually, EVERYONE has said this quote at some point in their lifetime, &, just recently, it started to slowly resonate with me. Here we go:

" However you wanna look at life, stay grateful. Someone'll always have it off WAY WORSE than you".

SO TRUE! Ya know, when I was younger, I'd always think it was weird when a stranger would be looking at me during a shopping trip, a school dance, or, really, just around my hometown. Other special needs families would constantly remind me how blessed I was, but I never wanted to brag about my life to make others feel bad about their situations.

You can't always change your life, but you CAN change how ya look at it!  Instead of concentrating on feeling guilty for what you DO have, give back! Donate your time, give away money from your paycheck to local charity, or organize a benefit to help special needs kids get the medical care they need.

NO MATTER WHAT, guys, SOMEONE is ALWAYS gonna have a horrible situation that you'll hear about. DON'T let that affect you. Jump into action instead!
